Real Learning First in the 21st Century
Internationally, education is undergoing a radical transformation that recognizes the need for creativity and student engagement across all subject areas.
In Alberta, the focus remains on narrow measures of learning. We can no longer hold back our students from becoming their best selves-creative and innovative individuals who will belong to a world that honours the diversity and complexity of our communities. Together, we must put Alberta back on the appropriate path to a better future.

This public lecture provides a unique opportunity for Calgary and area residents to learn more about what it will take to be a forward-thinking member of the next Alberta. The keynote speaker for this event is Dr Andy Hargreaves in conversation with Colin Jackson, Michelle Dagnino and George Gosbee.
Dr Andy Hargreaves, Thomas More Brennan Chair in Education, Lynch School of Education, Boston College, focuses his research on the sustainability of educational change efforts and the effects of educational reform on secondary schools and their teachers. Hargreaves will present his ideas on "The Fourth Way of Change."
